The Adult Chamber Music Seminar takes place March 11, 2018, in New Haven, CT.

Study masterworks of the chamber music repertoire with the world-class musicians of the Haven String Quartet! Join us for an exciting day of playing, performances, camaraderie and musical growth as you receive coachings and a master class with Music Haven's Resident Quartet.

We will welcome you on Sunday morning...

where we will have a meet and greet with the musicians and other festival participants before we break off into coaching and rehearsals. Each group will get a chance to work with different members of the HSQ throughout the day, and at least half of the time throughout the day will be coached. Lunch will be provided by Music Haven, and after afternoon coaching and rehearsals, the HSQ will lead an open master class for participants.

for the Seminar are two tickets to the Haven String Quartet's concert on Saturday, March 10th, 2018. The March 10th program is titled "Pushing Boundaries: Women Who Compose," including music by G. Bacewicz, F. Mendelssohn, and J. Higdon's Piano Trio performed with guest pianist Andrius Zlabys.

Tuition for the seminar is $175 per person (including a $50 non-refundable deposit upon application).

All proceeds from the Seminar will support Music Haven's award-winning programming, which includes free after-school lessons and instruments for 80 youth in New Haven's most under-served neighborhoods. If you can't attend the seminar this year but still wish to support Music Haven, DONATE HERE!

  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM - Lunch (provided by Music Haven)
  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Coaching and Rehearsals
  • 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM - Master Class

All levels are welcome! Preference will be given to pre-formed groups. Individual applicants are welcome, with the understanding that they will be organized into a group. Individual applicants are asked to submit a 5-minute placement video or recording — either of a recent solo you've worked on, or of you playing in a chamber group — to Resident Cellist Philip Boulanger. Applications are due by February 1st, 2018.
