Building community and
opportunity through music

Music Haven aims to build community by making music in every corner of the city.

We address inequality and barriers to access by empowering and supporting young musicians in becoming not only artists, but also leaders who give back to their neighborhoods. We serve students who reside in the city’s Promise Zone neighborhoods - a designation set by the federal government to identify areas of higher poverty in order to, in the words of HUD Secretary Castro, "bring the power of partnership to a whole new level as we seek to bring opportunity to neighborhoods long locked out of their area’s prosperity.”

I want to be a better musician. When I grow up, I want to know how to keep on going even when things get tough. Music Haven can provide that for me.”
