Robert - Age 18, violist

I have been playing for 4 years

My favorite Music Haven memory was performing my first ever viola solo at the Unitarian Society of New Haven with Marc Mann (MH's Board President) and Harmony in Action.

Music Haven has taught me how to interact with different types of people in an appropriate fashion. I had a very wide variety from young children to teenagers, young adults, middle aged individuals, and the elderly.

Robert's Future After Music Haven:

I am going to Western Connecticut State University for Undergrad with a major in Music Education. In five years, I see myself with a stable starting career and attending graduate school at Yale University.

A favorite piece I learned and played at Music Haven was Handel's B Minor Concerto for Viola.

If you were to write a blog about your time here at Music Haven, what would you write?

The years go by fast, just like the music. You build as you grow and learn. Music Haven isn't just about music. Its about relationships THROUGH music. Relationships with everyone you meet inside and out of your lesson time. Never underestimate the power that you have when holding your instrument in your hand because that can and most likely will be a gateway into a stronger and better life. I could and would write about Music Haven all day, but the best way to find out about Music Haven is to EXPERIENCE it and MUSIC itself. Never listen, ALWAYS EXPERIENCE.
