Music Haven Spring Juries
Parent/Guardian - You will not need to sign up for a time slot, because juries will happen during your child’s regularly scheduled lesson time/day.

Playing Images
Join us for a performance by the Haven String Quartet, accompanied by conversation, close looking at artwork, and a question-and-answer session. Playing Images encourages participants to reflect on the experience of listening to music while looking at art. Jessica Sack, the Jan and Frederick Mayer Curator of Public Education, is joined in conversation by members of the Haven String Quartet. Generously sponsored by the Martin A. Ryerson Lectureship Fund.

Chamber Series: Recapitulation
Music Haven presents Bach’s D minor Keyboard concerto in chamber style featuring resident pianist, Jacob Wang. In the 2nd half, guest cellist Wayne Smith joins the Haven String Quartet on Schubert’s Cello Quintet.

Piano Recital: Love in Bloom
Join us at Music Haven for a solo recital by Resident Pianist Jacob Wang, featuring an evening of exquisite piano music inspired by love and flowers. The program highlights beloved classics like Rachmaninoff’s Liebesleid (Love’s Sorrow) and Chopin’s luminous Barcarolle alongside hidden gems, including Nathaniel Dett’s romantic and wistful Magnolia Suite and Manuel Ponce’s tender Estrellita.
Joining Mr. Wang for this special evening is faculty member Patrick Doane (violin) in Fritz Kreisler’s elegant and nostalgic Three Viennese Dances. The program will also feature two of Mr. Wang’s students, Yohvani Cruz and Legend Dyer (piano), in a charming performance of Fauré’s Dolly Suite.
Experience a night of passion, lyricism, and musical storytelling as we welcome spring in full bloom.

SYREN Modern Dance will be joining us at Music Haven to host a workshop for our students. They are a modern dance company based in New York City whose artists have been named United States Cultural Ambassadors by the Department of State.

Chamber Series: Music in Motion
The HSQ and Resident Pianist Jacob Wang’s March concert features a diverse and powerful program that spans centuries, including Haydn’s playful and exciting Rider Quartet, Gideon Klein’s haunting piano sonata No.1, written during his time in a concentration camp, and Steve Reich’s Different Trains, a reflection on the composer’s travels as a child across the country against the backdrop of World War II.

Voices: Untold Stories Workshop
Voices: Untold Stories connects refugee storytellers with musicians from the Knights Orchestra and Music Haven. Through storytelling and music, we celebrate our shared humanity. Our next storyteller, Sima Ensafi (Afghanistan), shares her experiences as guest musician, Miranda Sielaff (violist for The Knights Orchestra) brings Sima's story to life through improvisations.

College and Career Pathways Workshop
Winning Ways will be hosting a Financial Literacy workshop called “Money Talks.” Moderator Rosalee Daley will be joining us to talk about money management topics, expert panelists, and local financial institutions. There will be a Q&A afterwards.
